LITURGY
At the Eucharist the 2004 order of the Church in Wales is used. (An introduction to the 2004 order is available here in PDF format courtesy the Church in Wales) The Eucharist is central to worship at St Teilo’s and is celebrated with reverence and in a traditional style, as influenced by the Oxford Movement. A wide range of other liturgy is offered including regular healing services, Taize worship and devotional style services. These are announced on the Home page. On Solemnities and Feasts incense is used at the Eucharist to enhance the offering for that day.
ALTAR SERVERS
At St Teilo’s the ministry of serving at the altar is encouraged as a means of raising the spiritual tone of the liturgical ministry. There are opportunities at all services. Full training is given and special preparation is undertaken for special services. Involvement with The Guild of Servants of the Sanctuary is available for those interested.
LECTORS AND INTERCESSORS
In the Ministry of the Word we need people to read the Lessons and lead the
Intercessions at the Eucharist. Lectors and Intercessors are offered training
and are commissioned each year. If you are interested in being either or both
please contact the Co-ordinator for the Liturgy of the Word:
Tony Coxon (email:
himself@tonycoxon.com or 029 2039 7109).
SACRAMENTS
The Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) is available on a Tuesday before
Mass and at other times by appointment. Home Communion is given for those unable
to attend Mass. Baptism, Confirmation, Marriage, Banns and Funerals can be
arranged by contacting
the Priest in Charge, The Reverend
